How the modern day poor understands Indian Politics...? [fiction]

Mr. Saxena, a 55 year old bank employee came out of his office during the tea break when he heard a couple of poor kids talking about “some” holiday.

Mr. Saxena will tell us the whole incident in his own words now.

“Today is 2nd October, and is a national holiday, and why is it a holiday, because some freedom fighter perhaps died or took birth on this day…”
Those were the words of a Chai-wallah, strange, isn’t it…? I took care of it, and shared an important piece of my knowledge, you see, wisdom needs to spread. Hehehe…
I asked him, “don’t you know the man in your 10 rupees note”
He was excited as he replied “that bald man was born today…?”
I replied affirmatively.
“Who else was born today”, he asked again.
I was about to furnish another piece of my knowledge with pride that Lal Bahadur Shastri was also born on some 2nd October, when he said “forget it, who cares”…
Those last words struck me…
I thought how an uneducated chai-wallah knows this ultimate truth of the 21st century… “WHO CARES”… who really cares who was born on this day or another. We only celebrate it as a non-working day.
I wanted to convince him that I care and many others too.
I called him again and said “I don’t know who cares or not, but you should, will you…?”
He smiled and said, “Is he going to give my family an extra meal today?”
I was numb at his strange question.

“No, he won’t”.

“Then I am surely going to remember his birthday from next year.”

“Why is that generosity, by the way?”

“Because I am fed up of the lies, our politicians speak to us, so for a change, I would like to give some respect to this honest bald man.”

“Nice perspective”

“I know”

And thus he left the place with a smile on his face. I still wonder why he was so happy for my description about Mahatma Gandhi. But somehow he felt convinced as if he actually spoke to Gandhi and was told the truth of what he can actually be showered with.

The Chai-wallah wanted the truth and nothing else. The poor wants the truth and nothing else, they don’t want promises. They want to face the truth, if only our Neta could give them the right fact about what they will be able to provide them, they would have planned their ways to get rid of poverty in a better manner. There is nothing wrong with poverty; the only thing which is wrong is the false promises to make them richer.

My Versatile Bloggers.

[This blog post is primarily focused on the bloggers I truly admire for their work, kindly forgive me for providing any content you find unnecessary for the title of the post. This one is all about my admiration for some true artists.]

I can proudly call myself an official versatile blogger now. Reason: The Versatile Blogger Award given to me by one of my close writer friend Harshita Shrivastava. Thanks a lot Harshita.

A few words about this wonderful friend of mine.

Harshita is a great writer, who pours her heart on paper, I have read almost all her blog posts on Relationship Vows, and I say every time "Man, that was so very true".  She also writes book reviews quite regularly on her other blog, Dream V/s Reality. Harshita once sent me her manuscript for reviews, which I have preserved in my favorite book rack, although I never replied to her about how I liked her work because I thought I am too ordinary to judge a 'class apart' substance. Harshita is going to be a published writer very soon with her debut novel "One in a million". I wish her all the best for the book and all her future endeavors.

How Mr. Bachchan recited for Yash Chopra

I was reading Mr. Amitabh Bachchan's blog this morning, when I saw the post about the "chautha" ceremony of Mr. Yash Chopra. Adi Chopra asked everyone to speak a few words in tribute to Yash Chopra. Big B spoke after Anupam Kher, Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan. Out of many things he told, I wanna put some light on the beautiful poetry he recited which belongs to Late Mr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

Here it goes:

Wow... it is so relaxing and inspiring, I could not stop myself to share it. "Sometimes its not just about the artist who writes masterpieces, sometimes it is also about that admirer who knows which masterpiece he should recite today."

Hats off to Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, every time I go to his blog, he inspires me to do good in life. If someone ever asks me what I want, I'd say, I want the clarity of thoughts only Amitabh Bachchan possesses.

On this day...4 years back... I started college...!!

As I heard somewhere, that “college is the longest vacation”, yes it is, I truly believe in it. As I saw the date on my laptop this morning. It said, 10/13/2012, it took me a minute or two to figure out the significance of the mm/dd part of this date, and then I realized that on 10/13/2008, I started this vacation. College.

SHALEEN and I came together in the route no 3 bus, as we reached the class, we found many empty places, but just for no reason we chose 2nd last seat of the window row, we were followed by MURTUZA and GAUTAM in the seating arrangement. I made all the notes properly, paid proper attention to every single thing that came out of the mouths of my faculties. I kind of promised myself that I will study from now on. I was innocent. I was a kid really. Among others I remember was UT, he wasn’t looking at me when I anticipated he was. Later I found, he can see two things at the same time. Ha-ha. I also remember DINSHAW, She was really enjoying everything. I regarded her as the most laughing creature of my class. And I remember SHAILLY and AMATULLAH, Shaleen and I was interested in knowing the people who has the next roll number to his or mine. MOHIT TONDE was most interesting, he was smart and a good speaker and I liked his persona. Sir ROHIT JOSHI told him to speak about something and he talked it in multi lingual skills that are in English and Hindi. He understood there were people from villages nearby and for whom English is big deal. The funny part is he categorized me in the Hindi part. There was this Big Man, I never forget. He is one of my best friends now…!! ABHISHEK. He was lousy but funny. I don’t remember KHALID, because he was absent that day, although we were already 2 weeks old friend. I don’t really remember ANSHUL. He became my best friend, but for the truth, I never remember things about him on the first day. And how I remember SHRAVAN, he was strange, lazy and was premature ever since he came out of his mother’s womb. And everybody remembered ASTHA, she was a victim of good looks, seniors made her presence more significant than anybody else. I don’t know why, personally, I never thought of her that way, but that’s how things were, that’s not her fault. 4 years later, I remember that day and realize how we matured as a human being; our points of views have changed, academically or personally. Aggressive ones became peaceful, the ones who looked forward for every plan became reserved and uninterested and the uninterested ones became more participating, changes struck us in different way in each and every one of us.

Happy Birthday John Lennon

One of my greatest idols John Lennon was born on this day, 9th October, 1940.

John Lennon was the founder member of The Beatles.

This post will be very short and quick. I will only dispense some of the greatest "John Lennon Quotes" tonight.

"If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the sixties, thats his problem. Love and Peace are eternal".

"Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans".

"A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality".

"If everyone demanded peace instead of television set, then there'd be peace".

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up. I wrote down 'happy'".

"I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists".

"Reality leaves a lot to the imagination".

"the more I see the less I know for sure".

"I am not going to change the way I look, I have always been a freak all my life, and I have to live with that you know. I am one of those people".

"Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives".

[John Lennon's signature]

If you have been a Beatles fan, please share this as much as possible. We owe that to Lennon, who made us believe that there is nothing wrong being freak.

He was the best, we ever had.

Steve Jobs: A timeline of innovations.

A year ago, we lost Mr. Steve Jobs. He lost to cancer. He died with his family and friends around him. I have always been more interested in the life of Bill Gates than Steve Jobs. But only after his death, I started to find his life very fascinating. I haven't read as much about Jobs until October 2011, but after his death, I began unfolding STEVE JOBS and APPLE.

I am going to dispense my research here, you may have read some of it or all of it, but I will still suggest you to read again, because this one here is very detailed. Trust me.

And Here We Go.

·        Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco and was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs on 24th Feb, 1955.

·        Hewlett-Packard was his first Employers; he was only 13 years old, when he called up Bill Hewlett for a Summer Job.

·        A 13 years old Steve Jobs met a 18 year old Steve Wozniak and bonded well only because they shared a love for Electronics, Pranks and Bob Dylan.

·        In 1974, Steve gets his first full time job at video game maker Atari. The same year, he travels to India to “seek enlightenment” in his own words.

·        What made him come to India- I don’t know much about it but he came like a hippie with a friend and earned his expenses by selling coke bottles which fetched him a weekly free meal at a local Hare Krishna Temple.

·        Although the Guru he came to meet, Neem Kairolie Baba, a little popular Indian monks among Americans died before Steve made it to the Ashram.

·        What made him leave India- Since he came for enlightenment of the soul, he was psyched with the extent of poverty and chaos in India. In his biography he mentioned India as “Intense and Disturbing”.

·        He also said: “We weren’t going to find a place where we could go for a month to be enlightened. It was one of the first times that I started to realize that maybe Thomas Edison did a lot more to improve the world than Karl Marx and Neem Kairolie Baba put together.”

·        And thus he returned to America and passionately created Apple and there he found “Enlightenment”.

·        On April 1st, 1976, Apple Inc. was incorporated by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ron Wayne.

·        It was named Apple, because he came from cultivating Apples during college and also he was fascinated with Newton’s Apple connection so he found it funny.

·        In 1978, his ex-girlfriend Chris-Ann Brennan gave birth to their daughter LISA. Steve did not acknowledge that he is the father of that child.

·        Even though, he did not commit about him being the father of LISA, he started working on APPLE LISA, which became the first personal computer sold to the public with “Graphical User Interface”.

·        Steve later admitted that “obviously the Apple Lisa was named after my daughter”.

·        In September 1985, Steve Jobs resigns from Apple and starts NeXt with 5 others fired from Apple.

·        In 1989, Steve was named “entrepreneur of the decade” by Inc. Magazine.

·        In February 1995, Steve Jobs becomes president and CEO of Pixar Animation Studios.

·        In November 1995, Pixar goes public and Steve Jobs turns billionaire.

·        Steve’s biological sister Mona Simpson, publishes her third book A Regular Guy was published in 1996, whose main character Tom Owens was largely based on Steve Jobs.

·        In July 1997, Steve joins Apple again as the interim CEO and he installs the team of NEXT on the top slots of Apple.

·        Steve Jobs is depicted in the TV Movie Pirates of Silicon Valley in April 1999.

·        Apple’s first retail store opens in Virginia and California.

·        In July 2002, first windows compatible iPods are introduced.

·        On 30th may 2003, finding Nemo was released and later on became Pixar’s first animated feature academy award winner.

·        October 2003, Steve Jobs introduces iTunes for Windows.

·        In the fall of 2003, after being diagnosed Pancreatic Cancer; he refuses any modern medical treatment for months, and instead tries ‘changed’ diets.

·        In 2004, iPod mini was unveiled which established Apple as a consumer electronics powerhouse.

·        Steve jobs undergo surgery which removed his Pancreatic Cancer in August 2004.

·         In June 2005, Steve Jobs makes a memorable speech at Stanford University and quoted “Stay hungry stay foolish.”

·        In 2006, Apple launches its “Mac vs. PC” campaign.

·        Pixar’s eighth film was Ratatouille which was released on the same day as iPhone.

·        The Media personnel starts discussing Steve’s health after he appeared very thin at the launch of iPhone 3G.

·        January 2009, Steve took a 6-month medical leave.

·        In September 2009, Steve came back makes his first appearance in public after the medical leave.

·        In January 2010, Steve Jobs unveils iPad and quotes “the biggest thing Apple’s ever done”

·        And then in January 2011, Jobs surprises everyone and declares his medical leave with no end date.

·        Although he was on medical leave, he came on stage to unveil iPad 2 on 2nd march 2011.

·        On 7th June 2011, to unveil Apple’s plan for its “spaceship” campus, Steve Jobs made his last public appearance.

·        On 24th August 2011, Steve Jobs officially resigns as CEO of Apple. He quoted “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.”

·        Tim Cook becomes the new Apple CEO.

On 5th October 2011, Steve Jobs died at his home with his family around him.

19 days after he died, Walter Isaacton publishes his biography which was simply named Steve Jobs.

And now here we are, in a world without the phenomena called Steve Jobs.

But his legacy will never die, the par excellence machines he made thinking out of the box.

The only reason someone avoid buying an Apple product is that he can’t afford it. I never heard of any other reason people say when not buying an Apple product.

Steve Jobs. An innovator never born before and definitely we doubt if there will be another person in the centuries to come who will match the intelligence quotient of Mr. Steve Jobs.

I salute to the man, who has been a hero in our lives. I never owned an Apple Product, but that does not affect an admirer. I know whatever products they are selling out there; Apple will remain the best.

Love marriage or Arrange marriage? Does it really matter?

The following post is written as a part of a contest by Indi blogger in association with Sony Entertainment Television’s new TV Soap “Love marriage ya arrange marriage”.

Marriage, what is it? Technically it is a ceremony in every religion where a man and a woman commits unanimously to be together and promises to be loyal in the relationship, taking something like an oath to  responsibly take care of their spouse until death. But is this oath makes any difference when taken in a love marriage or when taken in an arrange marriage… huh… I don’t think so… promises are promises that can be broken any day, it does not need you to be a part of a particular kind of wedding. I have seen some failed love marriages, and at the same time, many beautiful marriages which never failed, only because it was not an arranged one. Even with arrange marriages, some people can never strike the cupid, hopeless people they are, some believes love should only be displayed secretly and alone, thus they fail to present the public display of affection to let their partners know that whatever the society thinks of it, my love for you is more important than anything in the world. There is a beautiful event that can only happen in an arranged form of marriage, that’s knowing and exploring the life of your spouse while living with him or her, that privilege is not possible in a love marriage in most of the cases because you got to know almost everything about your mate long before you tie the knot. Some time I believe that arrange marriage is unethical in a way. Imagine sharing bed with someone who you know for only a month or two, how can you trust a guy or gal about his/her past if they might have shared everything about their bad past relationships. In such a little time, can you actually believe that they have changed as a human being…? Sometimes I doubt that, I really do. But at the same time, I have a solution for it for those who is against love marriage, you should keep the relationship for at least a year or may be a further 6 months to know your partner as a person and also to clear your doubts and make sure if he/she is really a faithful person in relationship. Love marriage has also its flaws like the lack of hesitation and formalities between the partners which sometimes leads the relationship to too much of demands personally or financially. Also in a love marriage there is a maximum probability of comparison between your pre and post marriage life that is very natural but your partner may not understand this natural change. Love marriages also have an advantage, your partner knows your weaknesses and strengths from the very starting of your married life and things become easier to accomplish. Whatever the form of marriage one does for himself, Love is above these classifications of marriage. It depends from person to person how he makes it beautiful either by loving the arrangement done by elders or by arranging a love relationship for a lifetime where marriage will only be another milestone.

And don’t you forget to like its Facebook page.

Kick Ass: Hit girl steals the show.

Listening to the original soundtrack of “for a few dollars more” and it is giving me immense passion to write, wow every chord every string used in this particular track gives a jolt of ecstasy in my blood streams. By the way, this track has been re-used in Nicolas Cage starring Kick-Ass and is used as theme music for the Hit Girl. Oh god, this track and this character hit girl have become my latest love, I could watch her fight all day while listening to this track in the background, I think I am running out of words here to explain how beautiful this track is and how beautifully it has been put to use for the Hit Girl in Kick Ass.

Here is the video to the tremendous scene with the tremendous sound track:

So what do you think, isn’t she enigmatic? At first this little girl reminded me of Alice, the “Resident Evil” Alice. But then I realized, she is way too quick and flexible than Alice was and of course she is stunningly beautiful, she is also one of the lead characters in Martin Scorcese’s Hugo. Some Actors lands in Hollywood to play the lead character only, she reminds me of Superstars Natalie Portman and Leonardo Dicaprio, remember them as kids, in films like “Leon the professional” and “What’s eating Gilbert Grape” and “This boy’s life” respectively.

She is truly going be Hollywood’s next sweetheart in the years to come; she is definitely someone to look out for. She will hit it very soon.

The Vampire Diaries: Reviews

Don't get mislead by comparing it with the Stephenie meyer's Twilight Saga, Twilight was a complete mess of characters drenched up with overacting and confusing links, whereas VD is a  perfect mixture of romance, thriller and drama added accordingly with some flamboyant characters and historical measures.

Elena, a 17 year old chick, with no parents alive is as sensible as his brother is not, she gets attracted by the charm of the vampire Stefan Salvatore who is actually some 160 years old, their romance was just starting to groom when enters the hottest character of the show "Damon" and the show becomes a sudden hit with great acting by humans, vampires, werewolves and witches. Vampire Diaries has got gizmos as well, and that too really fascinating ones, that you will actually start to believe that there were vampires for real.

Every character is as important as the other. Every person I meet has their own protagonist according to them. You will develop more love for this show once the hybrids comes up.

This one is a must watch for every Drama Addict.

My rating: 8 out of 10

The Two Kinds of People

I believe there are more kinds of people than the number of colors or their shades present, but there are only two kinds of people I really admire.

The Punctually Focused ones: They are like your corporate bosses, never late, hair combed strongly, shirt well tucked in, shoe polished. They don't know this thing called being late, everything they do; they do well ahead of time. They get good grades in school, then get a good engineering college [or medical, nothing else] they don't waste too much time thinking what career they should choose. They agree to the masses, if this is the boom right now, they will go for it. Then they get a good job in some MNC, work in there; get regular promotions and ends up retiring there only. They close all the doors that can lead them to "think out of the box". So, despite of having an average IQ level, these people achieve everything the society demands out of a citizen. They have many small targets which they achieve one after another.  They become the perfect spouse too, buying their wives happiness. The Best Part is: They have one single agenda, Hard Work. They believe: “if you want this, you must work hard”.

And the other kind I admire:

The Passionately Focused ones: They have a purpose, they have one passion or a set of passion, thinking of which they spend all their day. They don’t wake for days and they don’t sleep for days too. They are estranged from family, because when they listened to their family they could not come up with the kind of art they had produced living alone with austerity. They don’t try to please the society, actually it works only this way; they are better artist because they only please themselves. They are brave, if they don’t like your company, they will throw you out of your house and if they like it, they will die for you. Their friends try to suggest them that how they should live according to the society but they listen to their heart only. They know, they don’t belong to the society, so they happily leaves their family, they don’t run after getting married or having kids. The Best Part is: Whatever they do, they do with passion, and they spend all their life to find one answer or may be a couple of them. In short, their life are wasted till the most part of it, when one day they achieve their one and only target, like a painting idea struck with an unusual finish to it, or a literary twist comes up in mind after some 10 years. They are mavericks. They are understood by other mavericks only. They believe: “I am born for this, let’s not waste time doing that”.

And then there is the third kind, the people of the 21st century, it’s sad but we can’t be like the 2nd kind I mentioned. However passionate we tell ourselves; you have to admit, at some point even your soul mate finds you crazy and then you start behaving maturely to please your better half and in this way you can never be a passionately focused soul. Almost every day we have to ignore our passion for some other responsibility of our family or our career or kids or anyone else. Even a passionate movie maker in India is bound to use the F*** word many a times, what if one of his scenes demands such obscenity and abusiveness, why can’t he use it. As a result, his passionate abusing scene has been taken to toll by the society.

But there is always the first kind you can be.
